Activities
The purpose of these activities is to reinforce what you have learned from working through the resources in this session. The activities are not compulsory however you will benefit most from this session by working through the relevant activities as well as the resources. It is advised that you work through only the activities that are relevant to you, depending on if you have a Student or an Administrator account within Moodle.
Student activities
Activity 1
In your Moodle system, experiment with accessing different resources within Courses.
Activity 2
Add some events to your Moodle's calendar and experiment with the various time period settings available to you.
Activity 3
Subscribe to a forum on your Moodle system, and start a discussion topic about the things you have learned in this unit.
Administrator activities
Activity 1
Using the appropriate method, proceed to set up a new course on your Moodle system, but first plan out the topics you will include in the course, and then proceed to upload either real material or sample materials to the course.
Activity 2
Set up a Global and User event in the Moodle calendar and make a note of which of the events are visible on the front page calendar. Then proceed to login using a Student account and compare the differences in which events you can see with either account.
Activity 3
Create a discussion of topic within a brand new forum inside a Course (using sample content) on your Moodle system and make sure that every user of the system is emailed a copy of the discussion but ensure that they have the option to unsubscribe.
Activity 4
Create a formatted webpage in Moodle that will tell users of your own experiences using Moodle. Include an image within your webpage. The image could be either a photo of yourself or a sample image. Your webpage can either be put on the front page of your Moodle system, or in a relevant course.
