This session is an introduction to ELGG and provides background information on the system, its origins and how it can be used. It also covers the most rudimentary of Student and Administrator tasks, such as how to login and set up an account and profile, and also covers the basics of how to register a new user.

The session provides resources and activities for both ELGG Student and Administrator and it is recommended that you complete only the resources and activities developed for the ELGG account type that you have.

There are five main sections to each session that can be accessed by clicking on the links at the top of the page:

  Provides an introduction to the session.

  Expected learning outcomes achieved by working your way through the session.

• Resources
  This is the main body of the session and provides individual learning chunks relevant to the session.

  Provides a number of activities that the user is encouraged to work through in order to reinforce what they have learned from the session.

  Provides additional weblinks that we feel will be useful for further understanding of ELGG.
