The purpose of these activities is to reinforce what you have learned from working through the resources in this session. The activities are not compulsory however you will benefit most from this session by working through the relevant activities as well as the resources. It is advised that you work through only the activities that are relevant to you, depending on if you have a Student or an Administrator account within ELGG.

Student activities

Activity 1

Proceed to add a new blog post that should only be viewable to registered users of the system. The content of your blog post is enirely your own choice, providing it complies with the terms and conditions of the site.

Activity 2

Proceed to search for and add a new friend that has common interests to yourself, and send that person an introductory private message. You can state that the message is for practice for the purposes of a training resource and that they needn't reply if they do not wish to.

Administrator activities

Activity 1

Create a new community named 'ELGG Learning Community' and upload a sample image to make it available just to registered users of the system. The sample image can be imported from the sample image folder in Windows XP or Vista.

Activity 2

Create a new group named 'Learning group' and upload a sample document to make it available just to members of the new group. The sample document can have any content, providing that it complies with the terms and conditions of the site.
